Booking Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before making your booking.

References

References to “us,” “we,” and/or “our” in these terms and conditions refer to Connected Travel Pty Ltd. References to “you” and “your” refer to the customer, including all members of their travelling party.

General Provisions

  • The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and authorised to make the booking on behalf of all members of the travelling party. We will rely on the authority of the person making the booking to act on behalf of all other travellers and to bind them to these terms and conditions.
  • You are responsible for verifying that all information provided on behalf of other travellers is complete and accurate. Under no circumstances will we be liable for errors or omissions in the information you provide.

These booking conditions govern your relationship with Connected Travel Pty Ltd.

Agency

  • Our obligation is to, and you expressly authorise us to, make travel bookings on your behalf. Your booking establishes a contract between you and the suppliers, wholesalers, and third-party operators whose terms and conditions (including conditions of carriage and liability limits) apply to your booking.
  • While we carefully select reputable service providers, we are not a provider of travel services and have no control over or liability for third-party services. Copies of supplier terms and conditions are available upon request.

Booking Contract

  • Your booking is confirmed, and a contract exists when we issue written confirmation after receiving the applicable deposit. Please check your confirmation carefully and report any errors or omissions immediately.

Prices

  • All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change until payment is made in full due to currency fluctuations, supplier surcharges, or unforeseen circumstances.

Change and Cancellation Fees

Supplier Change and Cancellation Fees

  • Changes or cancellations will incur fees from the supplier, which may be up to 100% of the booking cost. These fees depend on the supplier’s terms and conditions.

Our Change Fees

  • Domestic/Trans-Tasman bookings: $55 per passenger per booking, plus supplier fees and fare/tax differences.
  • International bookings: $155 per passenger per booking, plus supplier fees and fare/tax differences.

Refunds

  • Refunds, if applicable, will only be provided once we receive the funds from the supplier. Suppliers may take up to 12 weeks to process refunds.
  • We will not charge additional cancellation fees for managing refund requests but will retain the commission earned from the original booking.
  • Refunds will be issued only to the original person who made the payment.

Deposits and Payments

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Some airfares or services require full payment at the time of booking.
  • Final payments must be made by the due date. Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit.

Credit Card Feed

  • Mastercard: 1.2%
  • Visa: 1.4%
  • American Express: 1.8%

Travel Insurance

  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of your first payment.
  • If you decline to purchase travel insurance from us, you are responsible for ensuring adequate coverage.
  • A $175 processing fee applies for claims assistance if your insurance was not purchased through Connected Travel.
  • Pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed for assessment before purchasing insurance, and additional premiums may apply.

Passports and Visas

  • Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your return date to Australia.
  • Travel documents and airline tickets must exactly match your passport details.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you have all required visas and permits. Non-compliance may result in denial of entry or deportation at your expense.
  • Additional visa requirements may apply for non-Australian passport holders. Re-entry visas for Australian residents are your responsibility.
  • While we can direct you with visa applications, the ultimate responsibility lies with you.

Frequent Flyer Programs

  • Frequent flyer details must be provided at the time of booking.
  • Retain all boarding passes and tickets for verification. We are not responsible for any disputes regarding points accumulation or redemption.

Special Requests

  • Special requests (e.g., dietary requirements, seating preferences, room types) will be passed on to the supplier but are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

Traveller’s Health Advice

  • Consult your doctor for health requirements or precautions related to your destination.
  • General health advice is available at smarttraveller.gov.au.
  • We are not liable for any costs arising from health-related travel restrictions.

Dispute Resolution and Complaints

In the event of a dispute, you agree to notify us in writing within 14 days of the issue arising. We will make every effort to resolve the matter amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, you agree to engage in mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action.

Modification of Terms

  • We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any amendments will take effect from the date of publication on our website. You are advised to review our terms regularly to ensure awareness of any changes.

Limitations on Amendments By Travellers

  • Requests to amend bookings within seven days of travel may incur additional charges, and we cannot guarantee that such changes can be accommodated.
  • Amendments can only be made by the individual who made the original booking.

Travel Documents Delivery

  • Travel documents, including tickets, itineraries, and vouchers, will be sent electronically to the person who made the booking. It is your responsibility to ensure you receive and verify all travel documents before departure.

Unforeseen Circumstances Clause (Pandemic-Specific)

  • In the event of travel restrictions, cancellations, or delays caused by pandemics or public health emergencies, refunds or rescheduling will be subject to supplier terms. Connected Travel cannot be held liable for any losses incurred as a result.

Prohibited Activities

  • You agree not to engage in any unlawful or prohibited activities that may jeopardise your booking or cause disruptions to the services provided.

Children and Minors

  • Travel arrangements for children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Additional documentation may be required for minors travelling without both parents.

Special Needs and Accessibility

We encourage you to inform us of any special needs or accessibility requirements at the time of booking. While we will endeavour to accommodate such requests, they are subject to supplier availability and capabilities.

Legal Compliance by Travellers

  • You are responsible for adhering to the laws and regulations of the countries you visit. Connected Travel will not be liable for any penalties, fines, or legal consequences resulting from your actions.

Governing Law

Your contract with Connected Travel is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You agree to submit any disputes to the jurisdiction of the Victorian courts.

Privacy Act

  • Connected Travel complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and handles personal information in accordance with our privacy policy. For a copy, please contact us.
  • Personal information may be disclosed to travel providers to facilitate your booking.

Government Warnings

  • Review Australian Government travel advisories at smarttraveller.gov.au.
  • We can book travel to high-risk areas but do so without liability or responsibility for risks involved.

Limitation of Liability

  • Subject to Australian Consumer Law, we are not liable for injury, death, loss, or damages arising from services provided by third-party suppliers.
  • Claims must be directed to the relevant supplier.

Supplier Commissions

  • We may receive commissions or financial incentives from suppliers in connection with your booking.

Force Majeure

  • Neither party is liable for failure to perform obligations due to causes beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, or government actions.
  • In such cases, the supplier’s terms and conditions will apply.
